I don’t know how many of you out there know this, but there are still Witch Hunts going on in the world. I am certain that all of us know of events in history where you now ponder the madness of humanity. Watching the documentary on Africa’s Witch Children struck a very significant cord with me. Mostly because I am a mother and I could not for the life of me understand how any parent could do these things to their own child. The level of abuse, cruelty and abandonment of human rights is in my opinion one of the saddest events in history.

Even more disturbing is that there are people in Africa making money off of these tragic events by charging for ‘cleanings’ etc, to remove the witch craft from these people often costing the family significant sums of money and sometimes even forcing parents to leave children in the hands of these people until they can pay for the treatment.

When I heard that Penton Independent Pagan Magazine was working to launch an advocacy campaign for this issue, I offered my voice! Why? Because human rights should be given to ALL people. I feel it matters little what skin color you have, what you believe in, or where you live! Human Rights are fundamental for all humans everywhere!!

Children especially do not deserve the cruelty they are having inflicted on them, some being burned alive, left on the side of the road to die, my stomach sank as I watched these children all now in the care of those on the front lines, the sadness in their eyes is what struck me, they are no longer children, that has been taken from them. To me, this issue must be addressed, I feel that those responsible for advocating these practices should be ashamed of themselves. These are children, not evil, but innocent children.

My thoughts and prayers are with the families of these tragic situations as a mother first and heathen second. I hope one day they share the freedom that many of us in the West have and live every day!!

Okay, not quite, and I don’t see Hollywood executives at my door, but who knows where my life could go I had contacted this online magazine called Open Book Ontario which seems to promote and talk about the local writing community here in Canada. They responded to my surprise with some information and a little question of my interest on appearing in a colum called At The Desk. Which shows author working spaces. So, I decided what the heck!

Kind of interesting, because I think I am the only Canadian Heathen and Independent Published author to be on there, but I think it provides yet another avenue for book promotion that I did not consider! So, here it is: READ ARTICLE
